Injunctions Against Harassment

An Injunction Against Harassment May Be Issued By Any Court in the State of Arizona

Injunctions Against Harassment may be obtained at the South Tucson Municipal Court Monday through Friday. We strongly suggest that you contact the court prior to appearing. The Judge may be in court and there could be a substantial wait before seeing him/her.

Harassment is defined as a series of acts, which are spread over a long period of time, have a continuity of purpose, are directed at a specific person, seriously alarm, annoy, or harass the victim without serving a legitimate purpose. The acts must be such as to cause a reasonable person to suffer substantial emotional distress, and are actually causing such distress.

You must tell the Court if there are any other Court proceedings regarding the defendant’s conduct towards you, or any other injunctions in effect. You must be SPECIFIC about how the defendant has harassed YOU.

A petition must be completed on-line at www.azpoint.azcourts.gov.  Upon your completed petition, a review by the Judge, and a hearing regarding the matter, may be issued immediately or a future hearing may be set to allow the defendant to be heard. There is no fee for an Injunction Against Harassment. You may contact the court at (520) 917-1568 for more information.

Injunctions Against Harassment are valid for one year from the date it is served on the defendant and is enforceable by law enforcement in any state or tribal nation in the United States.  It is the Petitioner’s responsibility to have a copy of the Order served upon the defendant.
