The City of South Tucson is proud to announce that, effective March 2, 2026, the City’s first-ever Online Permit Portal and Online Code Complaint Portal are now live.
Residents, contractors, and business owners can now conveniently submit permit applications and file code compliance complaints online. This new system streamlines the submission process, improves efficiency, and enhances accessibility by allowing users to submit requests anytime, from anywhere.

Planning and Zoning
The Planning & Zoning Department is responsible for providing support to the community by interpreting and implementing the General Plan, Zoning Ordinance, land use, and development regulations & Standards as adopted by the City Council. The Planning, Zoning and Development Services Department reviews all building plans, business license applications, development plans for building and zoning compliance. The Development Services Division reviews and conducts all inspections related to construction and enforcement within the City. We assist the public and applicants in preparing submittals and answer questions about code compliance.

North- Alley between west 26th/25th Streets, beginning with the 1500 block.

Transportation Planning
The goal of Transportation Planning in the City of South Tucson is to set priorities in the field of transportation facilities (streets, public transport lines and pedestrian design) that will meet the City's mobility needs of its current and future residents and users.
Flood Control Planning
Flood Control Planning in the City of South Tucson main responsibilities are to advance planning of infrastructure within the City in the event of major rainfall and flooding. This includes; site selection and implementation of Flood Control projects, planning investigations and planning studies, documenting flood overflows and damages.
