Prerequisite Approvals: IBC Amendment Section 3303.1.1: At least fifteen (15) days prior to the start of demolition, the applicant shall provide notice to the adjacent property owners of the proposed demolition. Confirmation of the notice may be submitted with the application.
Reviews: Zoning, Engineering (as needed), Building Safety
Possible Concurrent Reviews: Fire, Electrical, Mechanical and/or Plumbing review may also be required
Miscellaneous Information: Air Quality permit may be required. Contact Pima County at 740-3340 Description of the safeguards to be provided to protect the public during and following demolition, including documentation of the treatment of asbestos by submitting a copy of the form provided to Pima County Department of Environmental control titled Demolition/renovation asbestos NESHAP exemption.

Completed City of South Tucson Permit Application
- Permit application can be found online by clicking here.
- Property owners email address is required
- Sign and date the application
2 Copies of Site Plan
- Show existing structure to be removed and existing utilities to be capped
- Note the square footage of structure to be removed
Completed Contractor Form
- Provide contractor’s/subcontractor’s license number and South Tucson business license number
- Any business doing work in the City of South Tucson requires a business license. The business license is $40.00/annually and there is an occupational fee of $40.00/each quarter of the year. Please contact the Clerk’s office at 520-792-2424 for further assistance.
Note:
- The permit fee is calculated based off the valuation of the work (cost of labor and materials).
- An inspection is required to verify utilities have been capped off.
- Air Quality permit may be required. Contact Pima County Department of Environmental Quality (PDEQ) at http://webcms.pima.gov/cms/One.aspx?portalId=169&pageId=18477.
- For closure of septic systems, contact PDEQ http://www.deq.pima.gov/water/septics.html.
- Demolition permits are reported to Pima County Assessor’s. Please contact them to see how this may affect your property taxes at http://www.asr.co.pima.az.us/links/contact.aspx.
